Customer API Responses: Resolve Uncertainty Before Retrying a Purchase

A customer integration needs to distinguish an explicit rejection from a response that was lost after a purchase may have been accepted. Bong Views customers should use the current API documentation and protect their credentials. A careful workflow handles uncertainty without assuming a timeout proves nothing happened or that every endpoint supports duplicate-safe retries.
Reader note: Service availability, targeting and delivery depend on the individual listing. Review platform rules and the current Services catalogue before ordering. The illustrations are conceptual, not actual campaign results.
Read the correct API role
Use the customer API documentation for supported ordering and status actions. Platform or tenant Admin API instructions are not interchangeable with customer credentials. Keep keys in server-side configuration rather than public browser code, URLs or shared notes. Confirm the required fields and documented behavior instead of guessing from a sample created for another role.
Keep a local submission trail
Record the intended service, target and input with a local tracking reference. After a successful response, retain the accepted panel order ID. Your internal request label is not automatically an external provider or purchase reference. Keeping those values distinguishable makes later checks and support questions easier without logging the full secret used for the request.

Treat timeouts as uncertainty
A network timeout does not necessarily mean the panel rejected the transaction. Review available records and documented behavior before sending the same purchase again. Do not assume an undocumented idempotency parameter prevents duplicates. Another accepted submission may create another charge, so a retry strategy should resolve the original state rather than silently increase spending.
Report operations separately
Use supported status checks and follow current documentation instead of probing aggressively with guessed requests. Keep useful non-secret errors and ask Bong Views support when the state remains unresolved. Automated ordering organizes service purchases; it does not establish platform approval, guaranteed delivery timing or genuine campaign outcomes. Those conclusions require their own evidence outside the API response.

Quick questions
Does a timeout guarantee that no order was created?
No. Resolve the uncertain state using documented records before blindly retrying.
